Once accumulation reaches your chosen trigger depth, your property is scheduled for service. If the forecast calls for snow, ice management may be applied beforehand as a pre-treatment to prevent ice bonding before the plow visit. Return visits are made as snowfall continues to accumulate throughout a storm event, and post-storm checks are performed to address drifting and refreezing.

- Snowiest Months: January is historically the snowiest month, averaging 12.2 inches, followed closely by December (11.9 inches) and March (10.3 inches).
- Average Frequency: The area sees roughly seven days per season with a "plowable" (2+ inches) snowfall.
- Recent Trends: The 2022-23 season was exceptionally high with 90.3 inches, while the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons were well below average, with around 29 inches each
Taller grass shades the soil, which slows moisture evaporation, keeps roots cooler during summer heat, and naturally crowds out weeds before they can establish. Cutting shorter than 3 inches — especially in hot, dry weather — stresses the turf, weakens the root system, and leaves the lawn more vulnerable to disease, drought, and weed invasion.
In the fall, we gradually lower the cut height as the growing season winds down, finishing the final mow of the year at approximately 2–2.5 inches. A shorter final cut helps prevent snow mold from developing under matted grass over the winter — an important step in keeping your lawn healthy heading into spring.
For one-time services (such as a single aeration, spring cleanup, stump grinding, etc.), we have customers complete a simple service agreement specific to that job. It's quick and straightforward — no long-term commitment required.
